Emmentaler is a hard, cow's milk cheese that originated from Emmental, the canton of Bern, Switzerland. Emmentaler is a pale yellow Swiss cheese. It has a sweet smell, complemented by a fruity taste and delicate aroma. Its taste can be described as savory but mild. The most prominent feature of Emmentaler is the walnut-sized holes it contains.
